Wow. I'm not sure where to start. We are travelling round Mexico on our honeymoon and stayed here for four days in the middle of our trip. We wanted somewhere special to relax and unwind after all the hustle and bustle of Mexico's big cities and it really didn't disappoint. Amazing villa, amazing hosts and an amazing pool with breathtaking views. Be prepared to stay in the villa for the duration of your stay as is near on impossible to drag yourself away from the pool and its ocean view. Virginie answered countless emails from us in the days leading up to our stay and went out of her way to make sure we had a special trip. When we arrived -and for the duration of our stay - Celso and Bernard were spectacular and really couldn't have been more accommodating, helpful or hospitable. This is what Air BnB should be about - staying in special locations that you otherwise wouldn't experience and meeting hosts who make the trip all the more memorable and authentic. Thank you.

Casa Mina was an amazing vacation house! The infinity pool looks over a spectacular view of the ocean, with a gorgeous beach just a short walk away. We found the house even more beautiful than in the pictures! It was private, off the beaten-path, yet close enough to town to enjoy any of the amazing restaurants and beaches in Puerto Escondido. (We had a rental car and it was just a ten minute drive to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go.) Olivier and Virginie were incredibly helpful, supplying us with tons of local knowledge, tips, and advice, and went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us out with all of our needs. This was hospitality at its finest. While preparing for our trip, Virginie was always helpful and prompt in responding to us by text or email. Celso, the house/groundskeeper, and Christina the cook were very helpful and attentive. They prepared local dishes, stocked the fridge with groceries for us, and made up the room everyday. We highly recommend Casa Mina!!!!

This home is a beautiful place. My family and I enjoyed ourselves very much. The hosts were very friendly and in communication at all times. The house is well kept and it is daily maintained. The location is perfect nice a quite but very close to the main city. We would love to return to this place.

We spent almost two weeks in Puerto Escondido at Virginie & Olivier's beautiful Casa Mina. They are amazing hosts and with their support, and the help of Celso around the home and Cristina to cook authentic and fresh local food my husband and one-year old had the relaxing and special vacation we'd wanted. We had the uniqueness of an Airbnb experience with the amenities that we really appreciated: hosts always available to answer any question, fresh meals cooked, daily cleanings and fresh towels and linens mid-trip. The place is fairly isolated and overlooking a beautiful beach. Because of nap schedules and early bedtimes we ended up spending a lot of time at Casa Mina, and luckily it's a great place to be. The living room/kitchen overlooks the infinity pool and the ocean and the yard and hammock are also a great spot to relax. Pictures don't do the place justice, and the stay was truly incredible because of Olivier, Virginie, Celso and Cristina. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay! We are already planning our return visit to Puerto & Case Mina :-)

There is not enough room here to capture how unbelievably awesome our experience at Casa Mina was. First off, Virginie and Oliver are one of a kind hosts, the best I have ever experienced through AirBnb. Our bus arrived in Puerto Escondido at 8am, way earlier than check in time, but they sent us a cab to the bus station and allowed us to come to the house early! The taxi stopped at a grocery store so we could get supplies, and when we arrived at the house they gave us coffee and went through an extensive guidebook they have prepared for their guests with restaurant recommendations and activites. They gave us total privacy but also were available to help suggest things to do. They even drove us into town for free when they were heading in anyway! Otherwise, a cab is only around 100 pesos into the main tourist area. The location of the house is perfect and it is somehow even more beautiful than the pictures. The pool is wonderful and the house has everything you could possibly need. The hosts are unbelievably welcoming and accommodating. If you are thinking about booking this house, do not hesitate! We are hoping to return one day!

If this house is available do yourself a favour and book. I'm not sure where to start; The hosts Virginie, Olivier and their son Tan were exactly what air BnB is all about. Super helpful and friendly, they showed us around the town of Zicatela, giving us much needed local tips. They even invited us to their local dinner spot on first night we arrived as it was already dark. Any question or request they were so happy to help us enjoy our new home. At the same time we had privacy in our own lush villa. The house itself is spectacular, there was one day we're we didn't even leave, Virginie helped arranged a cook for the day and we relaxed by the infinity pool overlooking the beautiful scenic beach of La Barra. It's a two level villa, with the top level an open entertaining area with a huge kitchen fully equipped. They have a butler/cleaner who also helped us enjoy our stay at Casa Mina (getting us coconuts to sip by the pool) but just also being super friendly and helpful with any request. Transport; there is a collectiva (local bus) that runs close (7min walk) from the house that will take you into the towns for $8 peso (.60centsAUD) A taxi home a couple late night was only $60 peso ($5AUD). We actually walked along the beach infront of casa Mina all the way to La Punta beach. We did this twice (it's about 40minutes if you climb across he rocks at the end or 1.5hrs if you use the street access). We stumbled across a tutle sanctuary at the night me of the beach and we're lucky enough to be able to release 300 baby turtles into the sea. I would highly recommend La Punta for a low key but lovely little local town with a strip of cafes/ restaurants (which is the beach just over from Casa Mina). The only advice I have is about the ocean, the shore break here is too large to jump in, but a collectiva can take you to more swimming friendly locations down the road. Casa Mina is the best of both worlds, it was a secluded hideaway with the sound of the waves all night but we never found getting around an issue. I would definitely stay here again.

We have been more than delighted by our 5 day trip to Puerto Escondido at Olivier and Virginie's lovely CASA MINA! Their beautiful guest house has one of the most striking oceanic views that we have even seen. The very large and comfortable terrace has a fully equipped kitchen that allows you to cook in front of the ocean and feel the breeze constantly. We spent a lot of time on this terrace, taking naps with the soothing sound of the waves crashing on the beach, having traditional and delicious meals (from breakfast to dinner) -- cooked by Christina (if you want this option) and of course, playing for hours in the awesome infinity pool ! But most of all, it is the lovely friendship that we built in such a short time between us and Virginie, Olivier and their son Tan that made our trip unforgettable. If you need a quiet, confortable and beautiful place, if you want to meet incredibly nice local people who will help you to get the best of the Puerto Escondido experience, we could not recommend Casa Mina more! We will be back!

Excelentes anfitriones, siempre al pendiente de nosotros. La estancia fue muy buena y ellos súper amables y lindos. La casa hermosa ! Son tres habitaciones, una que está en un espacio compartido por las otras 2 habitaciones, no tiene clima pero no se necesita porque la brisa del mar refresca el lugar. La vista de la alberca es increíble, definitivamente recomendaría este lugar para quien esté buscando un poco de paz y tranquilidad.

Casa Mina is a slice of absolute paradise. The house is beautiful, clean, and quiet; a perfect hidden hideaway from the world. The upstairs is a completely open air living room, with fresh tropical breezes and a 180 degree view of the sweeping pacific ocean. We spent most of our time lounging in the infinity pool, which sits conveniently right in the middle of the upstairs living room. It's always a perfect 85 degrees, and you can lazily float a whole day away while sipping fresh cut coconuts from the yard below. When not swimming, we lounged on the comfortable poolside sofas, or made breakfasts in the adjoining kitchen, which has everything you need to whip up something simple and delicious. When we had to reluctantly retire each night, we were able to spread out on the large bed, and clean up in the spacious bathrooms. I can easily say that this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. But the beauty of Casa Mina is outmatched by the amazing hospitality that it's hosts, Virginie and Oliver, offered us during our stay. They greeted us upon our arrival with a warm "Welcome Home!" and gave us the whole tour of the place. They were very communicative about some questions we had well before we even arrived, gave us plenty of directions, hooked us up with a knowledge local driver, helped us find the beach path in the middle of the night, and directed us to an amazing turtle sanctuary for our final sunset. Even when our timing was a little inconvenient, they were only a phone call away. I wish I could bring them with me on every vacation, they truly made the experience feel like both a 5 star resort and a welcoming home. If you're considering a stay in the area and see that Casa Mina is available, do yourself a favor and jump on it, you will not regret it. I'm almost hesitant to let the secret out, I loved it that much! Pro Tip: Take their arrival directions seriously, and maybe try to arrive during daylight hours the first time. Our taxi driver got lost the first time on some of those remote neighborhood roads, which was a little sketch. However once they hooked us up with a local driver in the know, every ride was quick and smooth; jetting from our remote, hidden paradise to the happening beaches of Puerto Escondido in no time. The secret, remote nature of this spot is half of it's charm, after all!

Quel beau séjour nous avons passé à Casa Mina, dans cette superbe maison idéalement placée pour un dépaysement et un calme très appréciable. Quelle vue ! les photos du site ne mentent pas, c'est top ! Le relatif éloignement de la ville n'est absolument pas un problème car les taxis abondent et sont bon marché et Olivier & Virginie sont là pour les réservations et la négo du prix (trop cool). Pour les fans de surf comme Valentin, c'est le paradis surtout avec Tan qui est top conseiller sur le spot. Et pour les vagues, .... waouhhh ! Bref, nous ne saurions que trop vous conseiller de passer quelques jours à Casa Mina pour apprécier un Mexique nature & océan où la vie est bien agréable aux côtés de petits français très bien intégrés à la vie locale qui se font toujours une joie de vous conseiller et de vous faire découvrir les lieux, attractions et bonnes adresses ...... Un grand merci à vous quatre ! (et oui 4 car il ne faut pas oublier Celsio, l'employé de maison, qui par sa présence matinale apporte sa bonne humeur, sa touche locale et vous prépare le café et la coco fraîche cueillie dans le jardin ..... elle est pas belle la vie ? ;-)) A la prochaine !!

La estancia en el lugar increíble aún llegando de noche donde uno no aprecia todo sus alrededores quedamos maravillados, solo esperábamos al día siguiente pues sabíamos estaba en un lugar increíble pues a unos pasos está la playa y la vista desde la alberca en el segundo piso te deja maravillado.

If you are staying in the area, looking to spend under $100 a night, and are traveling with a group of around four or less, Casa Mina is hands down your best option. my girlfriend and I stayed with Olivier, Virginie, and their son Tanaig for six nights and had the time of our lives. They are some of the kindest most genuine people I have ever come across. They managed to provide us with complete privacy when we wanted it yet could not have been any more helpful when we reached out with any questions. They not only gave us suggestions for activities and restaurants, they went even further to set up a number of these experiences. Everyone they have working for them is kind and a pleasure to be around. We feel so lucky to have met their family. great spot, better people, couldn't recommend it more highly.

Great place! Virginie helped us feel at home even before we got there and Celso (the person responsible for maintaining the house) was very helpful. The three bedroom house is located in a more quiet part of Puerto Escondido (called La Barra) but very close to both La Punta (10 minute drive and $70 peso taxi) and Zicatela (15 minute drive and $100 peso taxi). Their home is everything that is advertised and maybe even better than the photographs posted. Would definitely go back!

Where to begin. Olivier & Virginie were the best hosts we could have wished for. There when we needed them with suggestions, yet giving us privacy. The same was true for Selso, he was very good! Le retour à la réalité est difficile tant notre séjour à Casa Mina a été en tout point  fanstatique .

Une jolie parenthèse de bonheur, de partage et d émotions .

Formule idéale pour nous : location de la belle  maison avec cuisinière pour les jours où nous mangions au son des vagues sur la terrasse face à la mer .

Les nombreuses excursions et activités proposées permettent à chacun de profiter pleinement des vacances.
Les journées sont bien remplies ( et les soirées aussi 😜).

L accueil dès l 'arrivée à l aéroport vous enrobe d'une douceur et d' une quiétude qui vous bercent au fil des jours qui passent trop vite .

I stayed at Casa Mina for 10 days in April with my wife and 2 young children (ages 2yrs and 4 months). It is a beautiful house with full privacy, great size for a family, and an excellent ocean view. The pool is refreshing and the kitchen fully equipped. There is a nice breeze to keep you cool in the hot weather and the bedrooms have good airflow with powerful fans. They even had a crib. Wonderful showers and towels. The hosts Olivier and Virginie and very friendly and genuine. They helped us with all of our activities with suggestions, booking, and as a shuttle service as you are a bit out of the main town. Easy walk to the beach. A highlight is the (unadvertised) butler Celso who made our stay unforgettable!

Comment commencer… Nous espérions trouver le paradis, nous avons trouvé le paradis. Virginie et Olivier sont 2 hôtes en or, 2 personnes en or. Vous êtes 2 personnes simples, qui souhaitent uniquement le meilleur pour leurs invités. Nous avons, grâce à vous, pu vivre l'authenticité mexicaine. Nous avons fait des rencontres que nous n'oublierons jamais. Les excursions sont juste exceptionnelles. Les endroits, les plages, les tortues, les dauphins, les iguanes, vous demandez, Olivier vous conseille et vous amène où vous voulez. Vous goûtez les Margarita et les plats de Virginie, vous en redemandez. La gentillesse du couple et de Tan n'ont pas d'égale. Ils sauront prendre soin de vous pour des vacances que vous ne pourrez plus oublier. La chambre, la piscine et le salon d'extérieur sont là pour votre repos, et tout cela amène la touche au paradis que vous recherchez, et vous ne serez pas déçu. Merci encore et encore, on se réjouit déjà, à peine rentrés, de vous retrouver l'année prochaine. On vous embrasse fort.

Simply amazing!! Words cannot explain how much my partner and I enjoyed our stay at Casa Mina. Breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Pacific. Immaculately maintained gardens that provide a tranquil, relaxing space. Everything was perfect! The beds are soft. The towels are big. The bathrooms are clean. The kitchen is great. The pool is amazing!! Virginie and Oliver's attention to detail is perfect! My partner and I cannot thank Virginie, Oliver and son Tan enough for their hospitality. Tan even took me surfing and let me use his surfboard! We are truly grateful to of met Virginie, Oliver and Tan. We now consider them friends. Nous avons passé 4 jours à Casa Mina en novembre 2015.La maison d'hôte est pleine de charme,et de la terrasse bien ventilée,on peut profiter d'une magnifique vue sur la mer et de très beaux couchers de soleils( mais attention aux moustiques qui eux aussi apprécient le spectacle,n'oubliez pas votre crème) Virginie est une excellente cuisinière et nous a préparé deux succulents repas. Olivier se transforme en guide chauffeur pour vous faire découvrir les plages et les environs qui sont superbes. Notre plus grande émotion : un soir à la tombée du jour,nous avons mis à la mer de minuscules tortues tout juste écloses de l'oeuf!Combien vont survivre?peu,nous a t on répondu Nous remercions nos hôtes pour ce si agréable séjour,nous avons seulement regrétté de ne pas mieux parler espagnol pour communiquer avec une population ,en majorité indienne,au sourire si chaleureux.Muchas gracias e adios

Nous avons passé des vacances au paradis, dans un décor de rêve, accueillis et guidés par des hôtes dont la gentillesse n'a d'égale que leur attention, qui ont su arrêter le temps pour nous l'espace d'une dizaine de jours... Ce sont nos plus belles vacances..... N'hésitez pas : visitez leur site, et franchissez le pas sans appréhension : Virginie et Olivier sauront gommer en un instant la fatigue du voyage, et les tensions de nos vies citadines . Tres vite, comme nous, vous laisserez votre montre sur la table de nuit et vous vous laisserez guider par le rythme des plaisirs simples !
Simples, les plaisirs ? Pas forcément ! Ce sera l'occasion d'apprendre à surfer ( les cours sont à prix défiant toute concurrence ), ou bien de se révéler sur des spots parmi les plus prisés de la planète, sur lesquels vous croiserez sans doute en toute simplicité des stars de la discipline ! Comme moi, vous pourrez vous laisser entraîner dans une danse vers les profondeurs par une tortue géante de mer, nager avec les dauphins (l'eau est a plus de trente degrés, même au large !) ou bien ramener un énorme et délicieux poisson d'une partie de pêche au gros.....
Vous faire les meilleures tables de la place, à des prix totalement indécents..... La gastronomie mexicaine est délicieuse, bien loin de ce que l'on s'imagine connaître ...
Ha oui..... Ca doit être cher, comme vacances..... Et bien même pas : le gros du budget, c'est le billet d'avion. Après, rendez vous sur la page de casamina : essayez de trouver une maison aussi magnifique, avec piscine dans le salon, vue sur le pacifique et les dauphins, à ce prix là ailleurs...... Et pour le reste, on peut dire que manger, sortir, faire la fête au Mexique coute 10 fois moins cher qu'en France.... (On mange et boit très bien dans une Cantina pour moins de 5€/pers), un excellent restaurant, c'est moins de 30€.......à deux ! Avec une bouteille de vin !!!! Une Margarita des familles, c'est 2 euros !!! On a vraiment eu du mal à s'y faire.....
Vraiment, si vous voulez vous offrir une tranche de rêve, à prix très accessible, contactez Olivier et Virginie...... Vous ne pourrez pas être déçus....

Fue una experiencia muy bonita el estar en su casa, gracias a sus atenciones, la comodidad, la vista, el atardecer, los delfines a unos cuantos metros de distancia! Casa Mina, c'est le genre d'endroit qu'on aurait envie de garder pour soi. Mais bien égoïste il serait de ne pas partager l'existence de ce bout de paradis ! Un panorama à couper le souffle, une plage déserte, un brin sauvage où seules les noix de coco se prélassent ! Une maison agréable au charme indéniable. On ne peut pas rêver meilleurs hôtes que Virginie, Tan et Olivier pour se sentir chez soi et vous guider avec passion dans la découverte des nombreux trésors de la région. On quittera Puerto Escondido et sa Casa Mina pincement au cœur mais rechargé en chaleur avec pour seule certitude, celle d'y revenir !!

Nous avons tous plus au moins cette belle image du Mexique pleine de couleurs, de vie (même la mort est célébrée) et de chaleur, mais là, c'est presque surréaliste.

 

Ce séjour à Puerto Escondido restera inoubliable pour nous. Casa Mina est réellement ce "coin de paradis" décrit sur le site. La vue sur l'océan est vraiment imprenable !

 

Merci beaucoup à Virginie (pour ses petits plats exotiques succulents et toujours étonnants, sa gentillesse et sa prévenance), à Olivier (pour sa sollicitude permanente de notre bien-être, ses explications, sa patience, ses bonnes adresses, son aide à travers la ville et ses succulentes Margaritas en bord de piscine) et à Tan pour tous ses conseils en matière de plages, de vagues et de surf :))

 

En un mot, merci pour votre accueil chaleureux, largement à la hauteur de ce qu'on imagine d'habitude de cet étonnant pays.

We loved everything about our visit to Casa Mina -- the house itself, the amazing meals prepared by Virginie, the warm welcome, the beaches, the town of Puerto Escondido and of course Olivier's five-star margaritas! It was an idyllic, low-key vacation. We will definitely return!

Having never been to Puerto Escondido, we had no idea what a treasure it is!  Casa Mina is exactly what one thinks paradise on the beach should be - and more.  Peaceful and beautiful or vibrant and exciting, we had everything a Mexican paradise could offer.  Strolling the unspoiled beach, sipping margaritas in the pool while watching the sun set; or surfing the world-class waves and strolling the bustling markets, we had relaxation to excitement, and everything in between.  Olivier and Virginie were the most delightful hosts, and we look forward to returning to Casa Mina again soon!

Quel dépaysement!!!

 

Des vacances superbes grâce à nos hôtes Virginie et Olivier (des Français qui parlent couramment Mexicain). L'accueil a été parfait. Hospitalité, gentillesse et disponibilité ont été les maitres mots de notre séjour. La maison et sa piscine sont splendides et très agréables. La région et les environs de Puerto Escondido sont magnifiques.

Nous garderons de notre séjour des souvenirs inoubliables (balade en mer en bateau en compagnie de dauphins et au loin une baleine, plages superbes, Mexicains très gentils et accueillants).

Un grand merci à cette famille de Français.

Ca peut sembler un brin cliché, mais nous nous sommes lancés dans l'aventure Casa Mina avec amour, un zeste de folie et beaucoup de passion...
